Isaac's 7th grade band concert

Isaac had his band concert this past Thursday. He played trumpet on all the songs except the last song, which he played percussion (the bass drum). And of course he did excellent! The Lord has definitely gifted him in music:)
(This was after the concert, so he already loosened his tie!!)

And apparently the videos are too long to post, so I have to play around to see what I need to do

Abby's Winter recital 2011

So yesterday made Abby's 3rd recital for her piano and vocal. It's hard to believe she's been in lessons for about  a year and a half now! She played The First Noel on the piano, then she sang Jingle Bell Rock and Hodie Christus Natus Est (which in English means Today Christ is born). It was a little hard to hear her on Jingle Bell Rock, she had to stand next to her teacher to double check the words, but all in all she did splendid!!

Well, for some reason it will only let me upload 1 of the videos, so I'll have to try something else to post the other 2:(

Abby's Winter Recital for Piano and Vocal

Abby had her Winter Recital yesterday. On the piano she played O Come All Ye Faithful and she sang In the Bleak Mid-Winter. She had a couple mistakes, but she did wonderful! At least three people came up after it was over and said they didn't think that big voice could come out of such a little girl and that she sounded beautiful. We are so proud of her! I couldn't get the video of her singing to upload, I'll have to try a different way later.

Nathaniel's football

So these are some clips from Nathaniel's game against Otsego. Both teams were undefeated going in to the game....Lake is still undefeated! After this game coach decided to make Nathaniel 1st string safety. I have to say I agree with his decision! (He is #40, lined up behind the ref)

This one you can't quite see the tackle, but he kept the guy out of the end zone.

Tornado a bit too close to home!

Here are some pictures from the tornado that happened last night/early this morning. It hit the police department, 2 family members place of employment, the high school (which is connected to my kid's elementary and middle school) and also Millbury (a town down the road). The pictures we took were from our road about a mile south of our house.

Abby's Performance

Abby got to show what she's learned in her few piano lessons. Her school had an assembly that let students who take private music lessons perform. Here's a video of her first performance. She's getting so big, sometimes it makes me wanna cry!

Pictures from Christmas

Here are some pictures of our Christmas.

Abby's Christmas Surprise

Here is the video of Abby getting her Christmas surprise-her new puppy that she named Spots. We had her open up his kennel while I carried him in from the back of the house. After she got the puppy I asked her if she had any idea she was getting one and she told me "No, I thought you guys just got me a cage so I could put a stuffed animal in it to make me feel better." Who knew it could have been that easy!

Isaac's High Flying Adventure

Isaac has officially flown, not in an airplane, but off a 4-wheeler. He was having fun with Nathaniel over at Grandma Connie and Papa's house. Isaac was driving the 4-wheeler, Nathaniel was driving the Yerf Dog (go-kart) over in Great-Grandma Lind's field. Isaac thought he saw something run in front of him, took a sharp turn, tipped the 4-wheeler on two wheels and went flying off! After a couple of trips to urgent care they said his left wrist was sprained and he had a fracture on his right wrist. Three days later he had to go see the orthopedic doctor to find out both were fractured and now he gets to have two casts for a month. These are some pictures, I took them a couple days after it happened so his face looks A LOT better then it did when it first happened.
Needless to say, he needed a lot of help to do just about everything at first, but now he's got the hang of life with casts.
